A self-made woman filmmaker who can set an example for upcoming generations is Priya Goswami. She was born in 1988. She is also an editor and a cinematographer. She is the co-founder of Sahiyo. Sahiyo is nothing but a community to empower women and to put on their voice against Type 1 Female Genital Cutting (FGC) globally. She has worked with FAO of the United Nations in Cambodia and Zee News Network, India producing videos, and communication material.
Priya Goswami has received several awards for her movie, A Pinch of Skin. She has received a National Film Award for this movie. The film premiered in seven countries. Through her films, she tries to convey the problems women go through. In 2015 she received the IAWRT International Long Documentary award. Apart from A Pinch Of Skin, she has also come up with another picture, Night in 2017.
