Trilok Gurtu is an Indian composer. Trilok was born on the 30th of October in the year 1951. He is from Mumbai, Maharashtra. Trilok’s father was a Kashmiri Pandit, and his mother was a Marathi. He went to Don Bosco High School in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His mother was a singer. She made him learn Tabla while he was studying. He learned Tabla under Shah Abdul Karim.
Trilok started his career with the album “La Terra” (1974). He then worked for the albums “Song of Everyone” (1985), “Que Algeria” (1992), “Miles Gurtu” (2002), and many more. He won the Best Overall Percussionist Winner in the years 1999 and 2001.
