Vikram, from the beginning, had a keen interest in music. At the age of three, he started learning music at home itself. Along with homeschooling, he also started his vocal training under the guidance of Prof. Bakshi. He finished his musical Visharad by the time he was 15 and had begun writing music for school and college plays as well. Additionally, he gave performances at several college competitions held at the state level. Impressed by his talent, Kurukshetra University in Haryana honored him with numerous prizes for "Best Keyboardist," "Best Vocalist," and "Best Harmonium Player."

After his graduation, he and his family relocated to Jaipur, where he did his master's in music at Rajasthan University and did his initial classes at the Trinity College of Music at Trinity College, London. Initially, Vikram was a sound designer for Indian FM radio, but later, he started composing songs for Bollywood movies. He even worked as a director and producer for certain songs and albums. For his brother Gajendra Verma's hit singles like Emptiness, Phir Suna, Saajna Re, and Tera Ghata, he composed music that not only brought instant hits but also multiple downloads on the internet.
