Prasad Ruparel is a music composer in the Indian film industry who hails from Mumbai, Maharashtra. Ruparel's journey in the musical world began when he started playing guitar at the age of sixteen years, for the rock band BlueGrass, in Mumbai. Ruparel went to study music in the US in 1997 and returned in 2004 after mastering skill. While in the US, he performed for a Western band, Wildheart, became a part of a classical guitar trio, No Strings Attached, and played in a rock band, Immigrunts. After his return to India, he worked to align his vast knowledge of music to create a new genre of music in the country. The songs- Guftagu, Jaha Tum Ho, and Hey Humko Samjhana from the film, were appreciated by listeners back then. Since November 2007, Ruparel has been a proprietor at Zaran Davis Productions, an event management company that provides audio-visual solutions. He has also worked on fusion projects with other artists. Some of his collaborations include- Simha, Artistic Revelations, Samarpit, etc.
