Bhavesh Bhatt

Bhavesh Dilipbhai Bhatt, also known as Bhavesh Bhatt, is a Gujarati ghazal poet and a music composer. He was born on January 12, 1975, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He completed his intermediate in 1992. In 1994, he joined Gujarat College for Bachelor of Arts but dropped out of college after the first year. He is fluent in Gujarati and Urdu language. He got married in 2007 and has a daughter. Bhavesh’s writing career started at the age of 25. His first publication was Kavilok, 2003, a ghazal published in the Gujarati poetry journal. His ghazals got published in several other Gujarati literary magazines, including Ghazalvishwa, Shabdasrishti, Dhabak, Tadarthya, Shabdasar, Navneet Samarpan and Kavita. In 2007, his works got compiled in Vis Pancha, a collection of Gujarati Ghazals. He also worked on several movies and advertisements.

His first poetry collection was Chhe To Chhe which got published in 2009, followed by Bhitarno Shankhanaad in 2014, which the audience loved. He emphasised deriving innovative works from the language. The vast subject range of his ghazals attracts the audience; these include love, social paradoxes, contemporary life and God. Bavesh’s hard work and dedication to his work did pay him off when in 2014, he received Shayda Award for his contribution to Gujarati ghazal poetry. He also received Ravji Patel Award in 2014, instituted by Gujarat Samachar and Samanvay, Yuva Puraskar in 2014, established by Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad, Kolkata.
