Geeta Kapoor is a popular television personality who started her career as a choreographer for stage shows, Bollywood movies, and television programs. She began as a choreographer at the age of fifteen when she joined the team of successful Bollywood choreographer Farah Khan who mentored her. Geeta Kapoor worked with Farah Khan as an assistant choreographer in various Bollywood projects including Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Na Ho, and Om Shanti Om. She also got some projects as a lead choreographer in which she worked individually such as Fiza, Asoka, Saathiya, Heyy Babyy, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Aladin, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, and Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi. In 2013, she got the opportunity to choreographer the opening ceremony of Pepsi Indian Premiere League 2013.
 
She appeared on television as a dancing judge for the program Dance India Dance in 2008. This dancing competition television program was telecasted on Zee TV. Since then, she has been judging all seasons of Dance India Dance along with fellow choreographer judgers Terrence Lewis, Remo D’Souza, Marzi Pestonji, and Rajiv Surti. In 2013, she also worked as a judge for the dancing television competition series India’s Dancing Superstar which was aired on Star Plus.

Geeta got the fame from the dance reality show “Dance India Dance” telecast on ZEE TV. She was appointed as a judge on the show in 2008. She made a group of contestants known as the “Geeta Ki Gang”. This show was so popular at that time. As she is a good dancer and choreographer, she taught her students in the group many forms of dance style. The show was so popular that the channel continued the show by making its seasons. After the success of the first season the channel launched the show in different categories like DID Superkids, DID Li’l Masters, DID Doubles, etc. She worked with other choreographers in the same show like Terrence Lewis, Remo D'Souza, Marzi Pestonji, Rajiv Surti etc. She is the only judge who is never changed in a single season. Ganesh Acharya is an Indian choreographer, who is mainly seen in Hindi films. His father Gopi was also a choreographer in Bollywood. When Ganesh Acharya was ten years old, his father died. His sister was at Cuttack and he went there and learnt basic dance from his sister. Later, he joined as an assistant to Kamalji, the famous choreographer. At the young age of 12, he started his own dance troupe. Anaam was his first film as a choreographer. It was released in 1992 and Ganesh Acharya was 21 years, when he became a choreographer for films. He got the Best choreographer Award for the film Lajja in the year 2001. He has also won the Zee TV Award for the best Choreographer for the movie Khaki in 2004. In 2007, his movie Omkara bagged him with the Filmfare Award. He became very famous and the popular Bollywood stars are comfortable with his dance movements and recommended him for their movies. In the year 2006, he was roped by 5 big films and all of them were made hit. Rang De Basanti, Omkara, Golmal, Lage Raho Munnabhai and Phir Hera Pheri are those 5 big films, which made Ganesh Acharya engaged throughout the year 2006. Ganesh Acharya grew his interest in the film direction and directed a movie in the year 2007 with Manoj Bajpai and Juhi Chawla as the lead. The specialty of the movie is there are no dance sequences, though it had Ganesh Acharya. Money Hai To Honey Hai was the second movie by him in the year 2008. It was a complete comedy film with the dead man as a main character. Similar sequence was already made in 90s in the Tamil movie Magalir Mattum. Ganesh Acharya had also acted in a Tamil film, Rowthiram as a villain. This movie was led by Jiiva and Shriya Saran. He often appears in some of the songs which he choreographs. Ganesh Acharya’s favorite male dancer is Govinda and female dancer is Madhuri Dixit. His latest hit movie is Humshakals. Currently, he is working in a film called Suresh.

Shruti Merchant

Born to the dancer whose father infused the style of Jaipur into Bollywood songs and that has lasted for several years to come, the late Shri B.Hiralal, Shruti was trained both in Kathak and Bharatnatyam. She stepped onto the dance platform at first, by assisting her sister, the famous choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant. Vaibhavi has choreographed for films such as; Dhoom 1, 2 and 3 - this series, needless to talk about the dance in all the three films, the songs; Dhoom, Crazy Kiya Re, etc. She went on to be such big blockbuster hits not just because of Aishwarya Rai but the choreography as well. Other films such as the SRK starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Madhuri Dixit in Aaja Nachle, The famous SRK starrer movie - Kal Ho Na Ho, in particular for the song Pretty Woman, It’s the time to disco, Maahi Ve, etc. All these songs were such blockbuster hits also because of the choreography. Also films like Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, which is needless to talk about the dance involved in his films, what brilliant choreography especially for the song ‘Dola Re Dola’. Furthermore films like Dostana, the songs; Desi girl and Shut up and Bounce, then came Tashan and many others. For all of Vaibhavi’s choreographed films, Shruti Merchant accompanied her as well. Shruti toured for five years to several places; Canada, Switzerland, US, New Zealand, Australia, U.K, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, South Africa, Thailand, Romania, China and Singapore, for her theatrical 'The Merchants of Bollywood', which revolved along the lines of Vaibhavi and Shri B.Hiralal’s career as a choreographer. Shruti danced her way to fame with her first film, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl for the song, Thug Le, for which she won the Best Choreographer by Big Entertainment. She later stepped onto the dance platform on the small screen as a judge for one of India's most famous reality TV Show on Zee TV - Dance India Dance in the year 2013. She then went to kick start with her production company, 'Quintessence Entertainment Productions' with the sole purpose of bringing commercial theater into the Indian Entertainment Market. She later went on to produce and direct 'Taj Express’ which is India's first international production. This musical premiered at the Jamshed Bhabha Theater in Mumbai, and it's World Premiere took place at the Esplanade Theater in Singapore in 2012. After which they went on to complete over 25 shows in about ten different cities across China. They also went on to perform at the '15 th Turkish State Theater Sabanci International Adana Theater Festival' in March 2013. She then shook a leg with her second theatrical musical, 'Taj Express the Bollywood Musical' which performed under the banner name 'Bollywood Express' and went on to complete 45 shows in about 36 cities in France, all in a span of two months; November and December in the year 2013. She then toured in Taiwan, at the Taipei National Theater between 21 st to 28 th July 2014. After all the fame and talent she exposed to the whole wide world, she was called to perform at the 50 th Annual International Festival de Carthage in Tunisia and also at Bangkok's 16 th International Festival of Dance and Music. The show went on to make its rounds at Russia in the months October and November 2014. They went on to perform 15 shows in thirteen cities. Upon reaching France later, they completed 23 shows in 15 cities across the country. Kudos to one of the most hardworking choreographers in India.
