Vijay Raibole

Vijay Raibole is the founder and director of Varchas Animation Studios Pvt Ltd, which he started in 2011. The animation director possesses about twenty years of experience in the field of animation, having expertise in 2D and 3D animation and is also adept at storyboarding, character designing, and direction. Raibole pursued a four-year course in applied art and illustration at L.S. Raheja School of Art, Mumbai. After completing his higher studies, he landed a job as an animator with Cartoonic Films in 1996. He worked with the company for two years while honing his animation skills.

In 1998, Raibole switched to UTV Toons as an assistant animation director. After a five-year stint with the company, he joined Yash Raj Films as an animation director for a short period. In 2004, the acclaimed director joined UTV, Mumbai, as an animation director for three years. He handled the 3D animation television series ‘321 Penguins.’ He worked on the Disney movie ‘Tinker Bell Test’ for Disney Toons Studio and DVD film ‘BRATZ’ for Mike Young Production. His other projects include the 3D animation television series ‘Tripping the Rift’ for Cine Group Ltd (Canada), and ‘Freej,’ a 3D television series in Dubai while working for Lammtara Pictures. In 2007, he served as an animation director for BIG Animation (I) Pvt Ltd, working for three years. There, Raibole directed the feature film promo for Ghost Station, which won him FICCI FRAMES BAF Award 2010. He also helmed the promo for the flick ‘Mr.D and Bee Zee Bees,’ which bagged the award for TASI Best Viewers’ Choice. His other projects with BIG Animation include the television commercial for Veneta Cucine and Reliance Communications. He worked on Seasons two and three of the animated television series ‘Ella Bella Bingo.’

Besides being a successful animation director and founder of an animation company, Raibole has to his credit numerous accolades for his contribution. His movie ‘Kong’ won the title Best Animated Feature Film at FICCI BAF Award in 2007. He bagged the ATF Animation Super Pitch Award for ‘Big Bees’ in 2011, Best Animation Screen Award for the Bollywood flick ‘Hum Tum’ in 2004, etc. Raibole was on the jury of World Skills India in 2015, FICCI FRAMES BAF Award in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, among others. He also served as a grand jury member for New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards in 2016.
