Suhas D. Kadav

Suhas D. Kadav is a well-known Indian animator and director who is behind children’s animated shows and movies such as Motu Patlu- King of Kings and The Adventures of Motu Patlu. He has an experience of more than 15 years in the animation industry with a plethora of Disney (in Singapore) short films directed by him. Presently, Suhas D. Kadav is the Head of the Animation Department in Maya Digital Studios. He pursued a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts (Applied Arts) from the esteemed J J School of Arts, Mumbai. The animation was a fairly new field in India when he graduated and had a keen interest in pursuing it. He had always loved drawing and studied 2D animation in college as one of his elective subjects. The creative freedom animators receive motivated him to become an animator and execute his ideas.

He was one of the lucky people who got the golden chance of training under the father of Indian Animation- Ram Mohan Ram Mohan is an Indian Film producer who was born >> Read More... and an animator from the Philippines. His experiences while working under such geniuses proved to be fruitful and added certain finesse to his animation skills and accept 3D animation when it came to India. Suhas D. Kadav began his career by working in the animation department of the animation film Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks (2016). He started directing animated films with The Adventures of Motu Patlu (2012) whose success led to a sequel named Motu Patlu- King of Kings (2016). He was inspired as a parent and an animation professional to create good quality cartoons for his children as he felt that Indian children do not get to see shows curate especially for them based on their country and traditional roots. The children cannot relate to foreign cartoons and learn Indian traditions from them.

This led him to direct Motu Patlu with an Indian storyline and the best animation. His primary target is the Indian children followed by children all around the world. The protagonists of the TV series as well as the movies go by the name Motu and Patlu. The series is viewed on Nickelodeon and is described as a clever comedy show. Motu and Patlu are best friends who always land up in trouble on different occasions. They go on different kinds of adventures every day. The show revolves around how these two tackle different and hilarious troubles making it an exciting and entertaining watch for little kids. The gripping storyline, humorous jokes, and amazing 3D animation make this show a popular watch. Suhas D. Kadav has his hands full with directing many more episodes of Motu and Patlu and hopes that it becomes a global success in future.
