Azhar Hajini was born in Hajin, a tiny village in Bandipora, North Kashmir. Since childhood, he wanted to become popular. He aimed to go to Mumbai and hopefully find the path to his dream. But certain crises in his homeland and his mother's distress became obstacles for his path. He improved his speaking eloquence by listening to a program by Tarisq Jamil on All India Radio. This program helped him to ignite the hope for a better future when there was only despair in his birthplace. He competed in debates and elocution contests and triumphed. After completion of his 12th grade, he got the opportunity to anchor a children's program named Baaman by Doordarshan.

Baaman became the breakthrough that was necessary for his career. Later, he hosted FM Radio shows, including "Sabras" and "Aaj ki Surkhiyan."As his career progressed, he landed some roles in Doordarshan serials like "Tehkeeq," "Yim KoemZolaan," and "Ibn-e-Adam." In 2013, Azhar debuted a groundbreaking radio show called "Mujh Main Bhi Hai Kuch Baat." This show focused on motivating youths to express their abilities to the public through recorded videos. He became a member of the theatre group Wahab Cultural Society Hajin.

He also worked as the publicity secretary for Halqa-e-AdabSonawari (HAS), a Kashmiri old literary organization. He directed several full-length documentary films for Doordarshan, that portrayed the plight of people living in places hostile to their dreams and survival. He desired to show the world the situation of people similar to that of his birthplace. Azhar has a PG in Journalism and Mass Communication, a photography certificate course, and a Vani course from Prasar Bharati.

He is enrolled in the publicity of the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K. His efficiency has been recognized by his seniors and officers of the Department. Azhar dedicates his time to preserving and promoting the Kashmiri language. He strived to protect the Kashmiri culture to carry on his late father's legacy. He became the author of two books about his father, Aziz Hajini. He plans on a music album called Safar Loluk to spread the beauty of the exquisite poems written by his father.
