Sanjib Chattopadhyay is an Indian Bengali novelist and a short story writer. He was born on the 24th of October 1936 in Kolkata. Sanjib’s style of writing is characterized with the use of short satirical sentences mixed by a vivacious language. In his stories, his subjects are primarily families living in Calcutta. The stories revolve around the moral values of the fast-changing middle-class families of the city. He frequently casts older men as protagonists. His most famous novella is Swet Patharer Table (The ivory Table).
His most famous creation is Lotakambal. He has also written fiction for children. He writes for magazines and newspapers. Some of his significant works are Cancer, Besh Achi Roshe Boshe, Eke Eke, Kolkata Achhe Kolkatatei, Dutti Chair, Mojar Foara, Ujan Beye Jai, Halka Hashi Chokher, Mapa Hasi Chapa Kanna, Palamou, Holud Pakhi, Bhor holo, Sheuli, etc.
