Gulshanara Khatun is an Indian film actress and theatre artist based in Kolkata, West Bengal. She predominantly works in the Bengali film industry. She started her acting career in 2013 in a short film called Without a Notch of Blue, directed by Sumantra Roy. It was about the story of a couple whose journey begins in the middle of the night. In 2017, she played the character of Dr Reshma in a short film called A Trapped Swan Maiden And Her Way Back Home. It was about a girl named Reshma, also known as Swan Maiden or a Tanabata, a psychiatrist who is very lonely and who wants to return to her mother. She gets trapped with her ghost husband and has to wait till her babies are born.

It was directed by Sovik Dey and the story was about a forty-five years old woman who goes missing when she visits her native place. Then, her only son reports an F.I.R. to the nearest Police station to find the serial killer who is targeting all the middle-aged women in town. During the investigation, the police department discovers some heart-wrenching and shocking and hidden truth. The film revolves around the mystery of whether the serial killer will be caught or not. The film also ends with a mind-blowing twist, which leaves the audience in shock.
