Bindiya Ghosh spent her childhood in the Kalyani suburbs, around 50 kilometers outside Kolkata. Her family staunchly opposed her desire to pursue a career on stage. She enrolled in a drama course at Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata but eventually dropped out.

Her initial attempts to join a theatre group in Kolkata were turned down due to her geographical location and distance. During this time, she became acquainted with Shantanu Jha and Kishore Sengupta of Kalyani Natyacharcha Kendra, which proved crucial in her receiving a surprising call after being away from the theatre for two years. This contact led to her performance alongside renowned theatre actor Gautam Halder, which helped to solidify her status in Bengali theatre. Some of the plays she has worked in are - Under a Spell Cast by the Bard, Tomar Ami, and Hridmajhare.
