Debabrata Biswas

Debabrata Biswas, also commonly known as George Biswas and George-da. He is an Indian Rabindra Sangeet singer who was born on 22nd August, 1911 and passed away in August 18th, 1980. He was born in Barisal, Bengal Presidency, British India (now Bangladesh). His father, a classical musician, taught him music when he was a small child. After that, he continued his education by enrolling in the University of Calcutta's music program. Debabrata debuted as a playback singer in the 1942 movie Nishi Padma. Later on, he performed songs for more than 100 films, including some of the best-known Bengali films ever, including Jibon Trishna (1955), Komal Gandhar (1961), and Charulata (1964).

He also sang in several Hindi films, such as Parineeta (1953), and Devdas (1955). Biswas was known for his sweet voice and his capacity to evoke the feelings of the songs he sang. He was a talented vocalist who was able to perform a variety of tunes, including classical, folk, and pop. He was one of the most well-known Rabindra Sangeet singers of his era, and people still love listening to his music today. At 68, Biswas passed away on August 18th, 1980. His wife and two sons were left behind. He is regarded as one of the best Bengali vocalists of all time, and people worldwide continue to be inspired by and entertained by his legacy.

He was also awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest award in Indian cinema, for his contribution to the field of music.
