His creation, with artist Hariharan, is in the album called Raga morphism, where he developed the Indian Jazz Funk sound using Indian classical ragas.

He has worked as an Indian music director for movies such as Mohanogar (Kolkata), kagojer Bou, Elar Charadhya, and Janla Diye Bou Palalo. He has also invented a new style of playing an instrument Keytar, known as the Indian Jazz Fusion Style. Last but not least, his composed background music for the Bollywood movie JAL has been nominated for an Oscar this year (2015). Indrajit Dey has composed a song, Juddho Noy, Shanti Chai, based on the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict. Indrajit conceptualized the song, while the lyrics were penned by Prithwish Banerjee. Apart from Indrajit other singers have also lent their voices to the track. The song was released at Park Street in Kolkata.
