Jochon Dastidar is a Bengali playwright, novelist, and social activist born in Kolkata on 16th June 1931. He studied at Mitra Institution School and graduated from Government Art College in 1957. After completing his graduation, Jochon joined the civil service. He married Chandra Dastidar, his colleague. His career included various fields like theatre, film and literacy activities. He contributed to the Bengali film industry by writing lyrics and directing films.
