Durba Sen was born and raised in North Kolkata. Her complete name is Durba Sen Bandhopadhyay. She had her college degree in history. She grew up reading literature and having the studies of Shakespeare, Tagore, and Keats as his favourite. She creates emotions with her singing and lyricist rather than creating joy for the audience. She wrote lyrics of the songs/title songs for various Zee TV serials. She got her first break with the TV series Sraboner Dhara, released in 2020. Abhijit Guha-Sudeshna Roy directed the TV series. She got her second break in her career with another TV series, Abaar Kanchenjangha, released early in 2022. Durba Sen is a happy-living married woman. Her husband's name is Ritobroto Banerji. They celebrated five years of their anniversary in 2022.
