Subhendu Ghosh is a film director working predominantly in the Bengali and the Hindi Film Industry. He hails from Burnpur, West Bengal. He is a B.com graduate. He is known for his thought-provoking movies. In the beginning of his career Ghosh directed several music videos in different languages including Hindi, Bengali and Nepali. His music albums amount to more than 400. His debut film was Abelay Gorom Bhaat. The movie released in 2007. Other Bengali films of Ghosh include Bhoy, Chetona, Shunyota, and Two Story. His film Chetona won him many awards. It released in 2015. His film Shunyota is India’s first film based on demonetization. It came in 2017 and was received well by the critics and the audience.Â
Ghosh’s Hindi films include Chase No Mercy to Crime, Main Mulayam Singh Yadav and Before You Die. Before You Die, another remarkable film by Ghosh is dedicated to cancer patients and their families. Ghosh won a lot of critical appreciation for this film as well. This film won the Best Film award at the 9th Noida International Film Festival. The film also made it to Filmfare nominations. Main Mulayam Singh is a biopic based on Mulayam Singh Yadav, ex chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. Gosh also directed a Nepali film titled Every Day is Sunday. His latest movie is Kusum Ka Biyaah. The movie is taken from a true incident that happened during the lockdown period. It won the Best Feature Film award at the International Film Festival of Srinagar.Â
