Koushik Kar is an Indian-Bengali actor and theatre director. He began his career as a professional actor in 2010 in Kolkata with the Minerva Repertory Theatre. In 2013, he made his directorial debut with the play Ma Ak Nirbhik Sainik, based on Sailen Ghosh's novel of the same name and produced by Howrah Jonaki. In 2014, he created his theatrical company, Kolkata Rangeela, and began staging the space Ma Ak Nirbhik Sainik under his own production. The play was chosen for the 17th Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2015 and earned him the Sundaram Samman 2015 in the best director category.

Since then, he has directed three plays for his own Kolkata rangeela, Natok Fatok (2015), Pornomochi (2015), and Auto (2017), as well as one for Purbo Paschim's production, Hasuli Banker Upakatha (2015). In 2017, he made his directorial debut with the Bengali film Pornomochi. He presented a play with the same title in 2015. The picture was released in April of this year. He received Sayak Samman 2015 in the Best Actor category for the play Ras in 2013 and Sundaram Samman in 2015.
