Korok Murmu is a screenwriter and film director. Born on 16th June 1982 in Kolkata, he was raised in a Santhali parentage. Korok was known to be an avid reader, who would read everything. He would sometimes borrow comics from his friends as well. At the age of 16, Korok realized his interest in arts and later studies Mass Communications and Videography at St. Xavier’s College, located in Kolkata. After he completed his course, Korok studied Direction and Screenplay writing at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute.
Soon, Korok started working as an assistant editor for many Bengali serials and later worked as Assistant Director for many Bangla channels. He gained immense popularity for his work and was soon promoted to Chief Assistant Director. Korok directed B. C. Baal, which was his first web series and also the first Bengali Web Series to be released in the year 2016. After that, he directed Khyapa, which was aired for two years from 2017 to 2019, Sufiyana Season 1, released in the year 2017, Kaali, released in the year 2018, and
