In the Indian film industry, Pinaki Chowdhury, often known as Chowdhury, is a Bengali film director, producer, and screenplay writer. Pinaki Chaudhuri, born on September 19, 1940, in Bengal, had a passion for fine arts since he was a child, which manifested itself in his learning to play the tabla. At a very young age, he became the pupil of the late Ustad Kermatullah Khan and quickly developed into a child prodigy, earning awards in different events.

He went on to become a film producer in 1977, producing two films, Suryasakshi and Father.
