. She got married to Omar Sani and is a mother to two kids. Arifa began working as an actress and singer at an early age. She won the Anonda Bichittra Photo Beauty Contest, which paved the way for television commercials in the 1990s. She first appeared in a movie called Keyamat Theke Keyamat in 1993 in Bangladesh.
She has also worked in other movies like Moushumi (1993), Dola (1994), Denmohor (1994), Swajan (1995), Priyo Tumi (1996), Lojja (1997), Kosto (2000), Big Boss (2003), Deshantor (2022) and many more. She has directed movies like Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti (2003), Meher Negar (2006) jointly with Gulzar and Shunno Hridoy (2014). She has also appeared in many Television programs To Be or Not to Be, etc. She has won best actress awards for various movies. Some of them include Meghla Akash, Projapoti, Devdas, etc.
