Sibaji Bandyopadhyay is a Bengali and English writer, critic, academic, philosopher, and performer. He is interested in Bengali and English literature, literary theory, philosophy, feminism, sexuality, film, and psychoanalysis, among other things. He has produced poems, plays, tales, novels, screenplays, and essays in Bengali and English. Sibaji Bandyopadhyay is known for his work in the films Satyanweshi (2013), Alinagarer Golokdhadha (2018), Guptodhoner Sondhane (2018), and Bibaho Obhijaan. Three Essays on the Mahabharata: Experiments in Literary Hermeneutics, Sibaji Bandyopadhyay Rachanasamagra volumes 1 and 2, and Sibaji Bandyopadhyay Reader are among his latest works.
Sibaji Bandyopadhyay is a former Cultural Studies Professor at the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences in Calcutta and a former Comparative Literature Professor at Jadavpur University in Kolkata. Sibaji Bandyopadhyay earned the Vidyasagar Memorial Prize in 2010 for lifetime accomplishment in Bengali prose; the Sisir Kumar Das Memorial Award in 2010 for his achievements to Bengali literature; and the Buddhadeva Bose Memorial Award in 2016 for his contributions to Bengali and English essays.
