Muskaan Uppal is an Indian actress who appeared in the Hindi soap, Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil on STAR Plus, where she essayed the role of Chahat Prem Juneja, the daughter of Heer (played by Additi Gupta). She gained more fame after performing as Meethi, the loving and sweet daughter of Inder (played by Jiten Lalwani) and Rajni (played by Bhairavi Raichura) in the award-winning drama serial, Sasural Genda Phool on STAR Plus. Later, she was seen as the young Radhika in the second season of the soap, Chotti Bahu on Zee TV. She played as a cheerful girl who does all the chores in their house. Subsequently, she bagged a pivotal role in the popular telefilm, Teri Meri Love Stories on STAR Plus. Muskaan played as the eldest daughter of Sita (played by Shubhangi Aatrey). She was also seen in Sony TV’s Pyaar Ka Bandhan where she played the crucial role as Kajol, one of the four siblings who were separated after their mother died. In 2010, Muskaan has done a cameo role in the Hindi romantic film, Lafangey Parindey under the production of Aditya Chopra. In 2012, she was also seen in the thriller show, Chhal-Sheh Aur Maat on Colors TV. She played as Ditanjali but she was replaced by Arishfa Khan due to time constraints issue on her school and the required time to shoot for the show.
Muskaan lives in Ghansoli and she is studying at St. Lawrence School in Vashi, India. Though she has a busy working schedule, she assures that she has all the time for studies. She carries her books in the sets and read books while it’s not her take. She started her career when she was just five years old. He parents took her to the audition for an ad film and she was luckily selected. She did more than 25 commercials including the Aquafresh ad with actress, Smriti Irani. She studied at the Methodist High School in Kanpur and graduated at National School of Drama in year 1995. She is associated with Dotted Line Productions who produced Bob Manhoff’s stage play, The Owl and The Pussycat in 2007, from where she acted as The Pussycat opposite Kumud Misra under the direction of Satyajit Sharma (an NSD graduate). She also did Dreamworks Production’s The Last Train, under the direction of NSD Alumni, Ashok Banthia. She also donned the theatrical presentation of Hindi writer, Krishna Sobti’s masterpiece entitled, Mitro Marjani, where she played the character of the bold and lusty, Baalo under the direction of Dr. Devendra Raj Ankur. She is also part of the Hindi play, Kaamiya written by the US-based author, Kamla K. Kapur and directed by Ram Gopal Bajaj (former director of NSD).
Kanika played as Sweety’s (played by Richa Pallod) mother in the Bollywood film, Neal ‘n’n Nikki which was produced by Yash Chopra. She was starred in the 2007 film, Eik Dasttak by Shekhar S. Jha. In 2009, She acted in another motherly role in Bollywood Hero in year 2009. In the same year, the actress played the role of Ma in the short film, The Homemaker. She bagged the role of Rita Massi in Alankrita Shrivastava’s Bollywood film, ‘Turning 30!!!’ in 2011. In the same year, she was also seen in the Hindi romance film, Always Kabhi Kabhi. She played as a teacher in the children’s film, Chillar Party and as Badi Rani in the Bollywood romantic drama film, ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster’. She also worked in the action thriller film, D-Day in 2013. This year, she has done the musical-thriller film, The Xposé by Anant Mahadevan from which she earned positive reviews by playing as the aunt of D’Silva.
Kanika also acted as Leela Bua in the comedy drama television series, Mahi Way in 2010. She also played as the dominating mother of Raunak (played by Shailesh Gulabani), opposite Saurabh Dubey who belongs to the middle-class family on STAR Plus’ Sasural Genda Phool. She essayed the role of Mrs. Babbar on SAB TV’s Sonu Sweety. Supposedly, she will appear in Dheeraj Kumar’s Yeh Pyaar Nibhayenge Hum as the mother of Karan Mehra, but the serial was scrapped in year 2012. In 2013, she did the German-language miniseries, The Girl with the Indian Emerald by Michael Karen and essayed the role of Rajeshs Frau.
