Kalakka Povathu Yaaru, the Tamil-languaged comedy show, running since 2005, had announced its season 7 winners, Azhar and TSK on 1st April 2018. The runners-up were Amar and Anzar. The series hosts many comedians and celebrities from the different cities of Tamil Nadu to compete for the ‘Best Comedian’ title. The first episode aired in August 2017 and over 30 contestants had gone through various formatted rounds to reach the final four groups.

Each group had two contestants aiming for the title as a team. The four finalist duos were Siva Balan and Bhuveneshwari, Azhar and TSK, Amar and Anzar, Tamilarasan and Mujagith. The grand finale had the contestants perform their respective comedic acts along with dance performances by the contestants and the judges. The special attraction of the finale has been performances by Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar aka STR (well-known actor, filmmaker and musician), and Oviya (famous actor and model).
