The Malhotras are a wealthy family whose matriarch is Sonarika Devi Malhotra. She has two sons, Devraj and Gopi, and one daughter, Divyajot. Devraj’s first wife is Kunti Malhotra, with whom he has a son named Harshit Malhotra. His second wife is Aditi, with whom he has two sons, Raghbir and Nakul, and a daughter, Shefali. Harshit is married to Tina Shukla, with whom he has a son, Parth. Raghbir loves Bani, who was brought up by her foster parents. Raghbir and Bani get married with the blessings of their family. Bani falls off a railing and dies instantly.

This sends Raghbir off the deep end. To give him a new life, his family convinces him to marry his childhood friend, Misha. On the day of the wedding, Bani’s childhood friend, Sukanya Raisinghania, announces during the ceremony that Raghbir has proposed to her in London. The wedding is called off immediately, even though she was lying. Raghbir’s office employee, Pragati, helps him prove that Sukanya is lying. Pragati and Raghbir get married in a series of events, but he doesn’t accept her completely as he is still in love with Bani. In his house, Pragati finds out that Bani’s death is not an accident. It is also revealed that Bani was pregnant before she died. Pragati starts falling for Raghbir. She finds the murderer’s gloves in the basement along with a recorder.

Those gloves belong to Raghbir, and the recorder has a recording of him saying that he would kill Bani. It is then revealed that Bani underwent plastic surgery and disguised herself as Pragati for vengeance. She learns that Harshit was the one behind the railing tampering. She also learns that Kunti, the woman Raghbir adores, is the mastermind behind the murder. When Raghbir slowly starts falling for Pragati, he discovers that she is Bani and starts hating her for lying. To help her get him back, Bani’s old friend, Saahas, enters the picture. Raghbir gets jealous of Saahas, and it is revealed that Saahas is actually obsessed with Bani and wants to separate her from Raghbir. Raghbir forgives Bani and finds out about Kunti’s atrocities, due to which he was tried to murder by a car accident.

Saahas agrees to treat him only if Bani marries him, and she complies. After recovering, Saahas and Raghbir get into a fight in which Raghbir hits his head and loses his memory. Bani recreates a few harsh memories, and Raghbir gets his memory back. Kunti then decides to kill Bani and Raghbir but is stopped by Harshit. He realised that his mother used him to fulfil her greed. Raghbir and Bani then confess their feelings for each other, and the serial ends happily.
