Programmes for women were always there in many different channels. Vanitha is a similar programme that brought variety of topics exclusively for the women folk in Kerala. The show was brought out by Mazhavil Manorama. The name “Vanitha” was indeed an ideal choice as it bore the same name as the very famous women’s magazine of the same management. Vanitha was an attempt to bring variety into the lives of the women folk. Targeted mainly at the house wives, the programme was telecasted in the late afternoon. The show brought different themes in a single hour slot. There were celebrity women sharing their favorite recipes. Household tips, new recipes, interesting household products in the market were all discussed in the show. The show also had a slot for the latest fashion updates, accessories that make the current trend in the market and everything that the fashion enthusiast would be interested in. the show also had very interesting interviews with women who have made a mark for themselves in the realm of business or arts or the like. The show sometimes had arts and crafts that supplement the hobby ideas of the women folk. Thus, the show was in fact a palette of different elements that every woman was interested in.
