"Rakkuyil" is an Indian romantic drama telecasted originally on Malayala Manorama and later on Mazhavil Manorama. The serial was an adaptation from the novel of the same name by Mayadevi. Written and developed by Murali Nellandu/Lydia Paul and directed by Manu Sudhakaran/T.S Saji, this serial has over 100 episodes, with each episode having a running time of 22 minutes. The serial revolves around a woman who binds the whole family together with her never-ending love and care, even though many obstacles challenge her. Manasi is a beautiful, bold but kind young woman who is the story's main protagonist. She is the elder daughter of the Melepat family and sister of Thulasi, who serves as the second protagonist.
Manasi was formerly wedded to a man named Karali Chandran, who had tricked her just so that he could later wed her sister Thulasi and steal the wealth of the Melapat family. Karali Chandran was the former antagonist, and after dealing with him, Manasi gets married to Adv. Sathyadev Varma. Currently, Manasi is trying to make amends and rebuild her family, which she loves dearly. Thulasi, on the other hand, is the middle child of the Melapat family and is currently married to Roy Alex. She is the second wife to Roy and the stepmother to his daughter named Emy. Thulasi is a strong and kind woman who has unconditional love for Emy and maintains a healthy relationship with her husband. She loves her family and does everything to bind them together with love and affection. How both the women face several obstacles in their path and manage to overcome every one of them with a brave face and strong will is what constitutes the rest of the episodes.
