Manthrikam is a Malayalam serial on Asianet premiered on 6th October 2021. It is a dubbed version of a Hindi serial ‘Nazar.’ It’s a story about a witch who lives in the forest and, as a parasite, feeds on the life of innocent humans by sucking out their spirit. The name of daayan is Mohana. She is 251 years old. While living in the village, she lures a businessman named Mridul Rathod. They soon get married. They had two children Ansh and Kajal.
Mohana helps her husband, Mridul, to become rich and powerful through her black arts. But soon, Mridul dies because of her evil powers. Mridul’s sister-in-law Vedashree and Shekhar adopt Ansh and Kajal. Both the children live with their cousins, and their relatives live in Mumbai. To get rid of Mohana, Vedashree takes the help of her friend Divya, who possesses divine powers. She manages to capture Mohana with her mantras.
But soon, she goes missing. Ansh experiences some unusual things happening with him. He has supernatural powers just like her mother. Divya’s daughter Piya comes to Mumbai to search for her and accidentally meets her father in the college where she studies. Mohana once again becomes active. She comes after Ansh and Rathod family to take her revenge. What turn of events will this family witness? Forms the story
