Saji Surendan had deiced the serial 'Mandaram' for Kairali TV. It was one of the projects that he had handled before 2008 when he was an acclaimed TV serial director. After getting popular by directing a telefilm for Asianet, he directed many popular TV serials for Kerala TV channels which include Manasam, Megaham and Mandaram. “Mandaram' was a total family entertainer which was a love story and many sequences were equivalent to even film.
Saji Surendran, the man who is credited with the Midas touch in the Malayalam television industry had made ‘Mandaram’ as one of the popular love story in television. Being a serial director he used to give treatment to scripts as equals in the film industry. Krishna Mohan played the role of Sharat in 'Mandaram’ after which he became a popular TV actor in Kerala. Saji Sunderan wanted to break away from tearjerkers and horror serial and hence gave the viewers romantic themes.
