The title of the show which is translated to mother and mother-in-law, the participants of the shows are daughter-in-law and mother-in-law of the same family which will join as a team. In Kerala, the conflicts between housewives and their mother-in-laws are a big issue. The show is to find the best pair based on their relationships and talents. Amma Ammayiamma was hosted by Sumi Anand.

The show was premiered on October 5, 2012 with a total of 19 teams from all over Kerala. The third prize goes to Jalaja Rajan and Selin Chacko while Sukumari Amma and Jyotimayi stands in the fourth position. Combo Taj Akbar and Fathima Sulfia were on the fifth place.

As the show received good ratings for the channel, Kairali TV is planning to launch the second season of the show anytime soon.
