Oh Yeon-joo is a second-year cardiothoracic surgeon, whose father, Oh Seong-moo, creates a webtoon W, which is very popular. Very late, he realises that the webtoon has formed its own reality. Seong-moo disappears, and Yeon-joo goes to his office to investigate what happened and gets pulled into the webtoon. In the webtoon’s reality, Kang Chul exists.

He was the winner of shooting in the Athens Olympics during his teens. Shortly after, his parents were murdered, and with his history of shooting, the police arrest Kang Chul as the prime suspect. Han Cheol-ho, is a member of the Congress and also a prosecutor, who takes up the murder case hoping it would get him the popularity he needs to win the elections. Despite his efforts to convict Kang Chul, he is proven innocent. Kang Chul decides to end his life by jumping off a bridge, but at the minutes, he has an epiphany and resolves to find the murderer. He works hard and becomes a multimillionaire, and opens a broadcasting company with the name W. The murderer manages to stab Kang Chul on his penthouse rooftop, and gets saved by Yeon-joo, who doesn’t understand what’s happening. Kang Chul immediately falls in love with her. She offers to help him find his parents’ killers, and love blooms between them.
