Strong woman Do Bong-Soon is a Korean drama that aired on the channel JTBC every Friday and Saturday at 11 pm. It was written and directed by Baek Mi-Kyung and Lee Hyung-min, respectively. The woman in the title of the show is Do Bong-soon, who has herculean strength, a superpower that has been passed down to the women of her family. There’s a catch, though, if the women use that power for their own gain and mistreat others, the powers will vanish, just like it happened with her mother. So Bong-soon is very careful with where she uses her powers.

Her dream is to create a video game with herself as the main character. One day, she fights a few construction workers who were giving trouble to a bus driver. She realises that she couldn’t control her powers. Min-hyuk, the charming yet childish CEO of Ainsoft gaming company, is being threatened anonymously. He witnesses Bong-soon’s fight with the thugs and appoints her as a bodyguard. He promises to give her a job in his company if she works well. He also helps her keep her powers under control. Bong-soon is in love with her childhood friend Guk-doo, a police officer, who already has a girlfriend. They meet again when serial kidnappings of women occur in Dobong-dong, their hometown. Na Kyung-shim, Bong-soon’s best friend, was also targeted by the kidnapper, who is always shown wearing a mask.

He is obsessed with a play called “Blue Beard and his Seven Wives”, in which the protagonist marries several times after killing his previous wife. The kidnapper’s actions are inspired by that story. Guk-doo is already on the case when Bong-soon decides to investigate it. Min-hyuk helps her with it. During the course of finding the culprit, Min-hyuk and Bong-soon become close, and he starts developing feelings for her. The three of them are roped into working together, and the boys are always passive-aggressive with each other. The kidnapper feels threatened by Bong-soon and decides to get rid of her, but remained unsuccessful. In the end, they find out that the criminal is Kim Jang-hyun, a psycho. Bong-soon releases her dream video game and tries to own her powers in real life.
