Arthdal Chronicles is a South Korean television show that falls under the genre of fantasy and romance. Fantasy shows are far from the real world which adds popularity to this genre. The show follows the story of the mystical and mythical land of Arth where magical creatures live. The story is about different inhabitants of the ancient city of Arthdal, who are fighting their power struggles. There are two main characters, Ta-gon who is the first son of the leader of the Arthdal Union and the other is Eun-seom who is a member of the Wahan tribe of the lark. The story follows both these characters as they grew up and their purpose in life gets clear.

Eun-Seom wants to bring back his tribe to its origin while Ta-gon, who suddenly becomes a war hero, gets trapped by his father and has to fight him to become a leader. The other main character is Tan-ya, a brave and pretty warrior from the Wahan tribe who regularly dreams of Eun-seom and starts having feelings for him. The show was directed by Kim Won-Seok and has been written by Park Sang-Yeon along with Kim Won-Seok. The show featured on the channel, TVN. The show only had one season and has a total of 18 episodes.

The show, when released became an instant success among youngsters who loved the show for its mystical and magical characters and story. The show was received well by the television audience. Due to the success of the show, streaming giant Netflix bought the rights of the show.
