Pinocchio is a Korean serial that got aired on SBS on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12th November 2014 to 15th January 2015. This is one of the hit Korean dramas that had gone to a record price in China. Jo Soo-won and Shin Seung-woo directed the series. Park Chang-Yong produced the drama.

Ki Ha-Myung lives with his parents and with his elder brother. His father, Ki Ho-sang, is the captain of the firefighting squad and his brother is Jae Myung. Ho-Sang fought to rescue people in a factory explosion and sacrificed his life. But, when his body went missing, he was made a scapegoat in the accident. News spread wrong that Ho-Sang escaped and had been hiding somewhere. This made the neighbors get an aversion to his family. Following this, Ho Sang’s wife commits suicide, and Ha Myung jumps off a cliff. Jae Myung gets angry and blames the media for their deaths. When everyone thought that Ha Myung was dead, he was rescued by Choi Gong Pil on Hyangri Island. Choi has Alzheimer’s disease and thinks of Ha Myung as his son, Choi Dal Po, who died three decades back. Ha Myung is impressed by Choi’s love and affection and started treating him as his father. Later, Choi adopts him officially and names him Choi Dal Po. Choi Gong Pil’s younger son is Choi Dal-Pyung. He comes to Hyangri Island with his daughter, Choi In Ha. Choi asks him to address Myung as elder brother and asks his granddaughter to call Myung as Uncle. Choi In Ha suffers from Pinocchio syndrome, and when she lies, she gets hiccups. Myung and Choi In Ha grew together, and they study in the same class. After a few years, Myung works as a taxi driver, and In Ha is struggling to get a job. What happens next? Did Myung get a better job? Did he meet his elder brother? Did In Ha get her favorite reporter job? The rest of the series deals with this.
