Han Hyo-Joo born on February 22th 1987, is a South Korean film actress, television actress, model, and artist. She is known for her main roles in television series such as Spring Waltz (2006), Brilliant Legacy (2009), Dong Yi (2010), W (2016), and Happiness (2021), and the films Masquerade (2012), one of Korea's most lucrative films. Most of them are Cold Eyes (2013), which won Best Actress at the 34th Blue Dragon Film Awards, and The Beauty Inside (2015). Han Hyo-Joo was born in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province. She became a public school inspector, and her father was an air force officer. As a child, she was good at sports, especially track and field. In her second year of high school, she moved to Seoul and attended Bulgok High School, despite her father's strong and resilient opposition.
She then went to Dongguk University, where she joined the theater and film department. Han was first featured in a youth beauty pageant organized by food corporation Binggrae in 2003. She started her acting career in the sitcom Nonstop 5 and the comedy film My Boss, My Teacher. Han later raised his profile by starring in Spring Waltz, the fourth and final installment of a series of "drama of the season" series by TV director Yoon Seok-ho. In 2006, director Lee Yoon-ki cast Han in a prominent role in his low-budget independent film Ad-lib Night, following a young woman who once again found herself in a strange one-night encounter with strangers.
She has won Best New Actress at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards and the Singapore International Film Festival for her acting. Han then played two of the most successful and popular TV projects - the KBS daily drama Heaven & Earth with Park Hae-jin in 2007, and the SBS series masked-adventurer Iljimae and Lee Joon-Gi in 2008. Both of these dramas drew strong audience ratings across the country in their time with high audience ratings and introduced Han to the home name. After that, she was cast in another indie film, Ride Away, which first appeared at the 2008 Jeonju International Film Festival. Han then recorded the Korean-Japanese tele cinema co-production Heaven's Postman, which also featured pop music star Jaejoong of TVXQ (now JYJ).
After several setbacks, it was released in theaters in late 2009 and aired on television in 2010. Han’s success stemmed from Brilliant Legacy starring Lee Seung-gi, which became a hit song in 2009, reaching a peak audience view of 47.1%. Later Han ended her stellar role in the play Soul Special, starring KBS Joy. In 2010, Han took the lead role in the 49-year-old MBC project Dong Yi, The series was a thrill when hosted at home and across Asia. Han has won several acting awards for her role as Choi Suk-bin, including the Daesang (Grand Prize) award at the MBC Drama Awards and the award for best actress at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
