Kim Eui-Sung, also known as Kim Ui Sung, Kim Ui Seong, and Kim Eui Seong, is an award-winning veteran South Korean actor, producer, stage actor, and artist. He is also called an ‘unprecedented luxury actor’ by his fans. He was born on December 17, 1965, in South Korea. He took a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree at Seoul National University, South Korea. He married Han Jeong Rim, a Film Score Composer. Kim Eui-sung marked his acting debut with the film “Mom Has A Lover” in 1995. Since then, he has enjoyed a prolific career in films. Kim Eui-sung has been a part of many groups since 1987.
In 2011, he played the role of Joong Won in the Korean black and white film “The Day He Arrives,” written and directed by Hong Sang-soo. In 2015, he marked his television debut through the Korean show “Six Flying Dragons,” aired on SBS. He played the role of Jeong Mong-Ju. He also appeared in the South Korean web series “Be Positive,” produced by Samsung and starring Do Kyung-soo, Lee David, and Chae Seo-jin. In the web drama, he portrayed the role of Hwan-dong’s father. Kim Eui-sung was nominated as Best Supporting Actor at 50th Baeksang Arts Awards for his role in the film “The Face Reader” in 2014.
For his role in the television show titled “W,” he won the ‘Golden Acting Award, Actor in a miniseries’ at 2016 MBC Drama Awards and ‘Acting Award, Actor’ at 5th APAN Star Awards. Kim Eui-sung’s role in the film “Train to Busan” garnered him the ‘Best Supporting Actor award’ at 25th Buil Film Awards and 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards. He was also nominated at 37th Blue Dragon Film Awards and 22nd Chusna Film Art Awards for the Best Supporting Actor. In 2021, he won the ‘Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries Genre/ Fantasy Drama’ at SBS Drama Awards for his performance in the television series “Taxi Driver.”
