The story line is based on the family values and revolves around social sentiments. Archana is the name of the main character. Archana's mother is worried about her marriage. Her mother tries to find a suitable bridegroom. A proposal comes to the family through family well-wisher. His name is Vasu, a mechanic by profession. But still, Vasu is not ready for the marriage because he has lots of responsibilities towards his family. He has given up his studies to educate his younger brother and sister. But he accidently meets Archana in a temple, he falls in love. Finally, he decides to get married to Archana. Though he is a mechanic by profession, he utters lies posing himself as an Engineering graduate only for the sake of marriage. After marriage, everyone comes to know about this fact. At this juncture, all starts to hate Vasu for concealing the fact about his education.
Archana also upset with this matter and refuses to live with him. Finally, the story moves around their love life, challenges and odds of their life. This show is simultaneously launched in five languages. In Kannada as Jokali  on Udaya TV, in Malayalam as Nilavilakku on Surya TV , in Tamil as  Thirumathi Selvam on Sun TV , in Hindi as  Pavithra Rishta on Zee TV , in Telugu as Devatha on Gemini TV. This serial is running successfully on prime time, since 3 years, completing around 750 episodes. All the Jokali Kannada episodes are still very famous among the audience.
