) love each other, except they do not know about it. The story revolves around the dual lives that most youths of our times are nudged into living simply to get a break from their 'tired, boring lives. 'Ek Jhoothi Love Story' is a typical tale of the middle-class family struggles and how finding the right spouse is their ultimate aim in life. The two families belonging to the two leads of the story are your typical middle to lower-middle-class people who work, get educated, need to feed the family, get married, and finally disappear into a life of oblivion.
Salma and Sohail are Natalia and Nofil, their online fictional versions. These profiles are everything that the two struggling middle–class individuals ever wanted to be. Natalia and Nofil are rich, accomplished, and living their dream lives full of opportunities. They are a stark contrast to Salma and Sohail. While Salma is the youngest of the three sisters in her family, Sohail runs a modest shop in a 'mohalla.'
Salma's family comprises her parents and two other elder sisters whose ultimate aim is to get married to 'good boys.' Their lives are a daily grind of possible prospects arriving over to select the girls. While the two sisters are fairly educated above average looking, the final seal of their fate is only determined by the 'right kind of grooms' they are expected to marry.
Sohail, on the other hand, runs a shop that his now-deceased father owned. He has a younger sister and a widowed mother to look after. While his friends have ventured ahead in life into a better livelihood, Sohail has had to sacrifice his own to be able to support his family. Despite the grim storyline, director

has done a commendable job shaping the story into a good comedy.
As expected from such a story, the two leads end up together. But not as the love birds Natalia and Nofil. This is an exciting twist in the otherwise plain storyline. The audience will surely be treated to a fine plot where the 'happily ever after' is decided as an arranged marriage. Only the Sohail and Salma were in love long before that. It is a must-watch for good comedy, a simple story, and some excellent acting.
