Mehreen Jabbar

Mahreen Jabbar is a New York-based TV Director/ Producer, born in December 1971 in Karachi, Pakistan. She grew around Pakistan's show business. She was highly influenced by her father, Javed Jabbar, a very successful filmmaker and a former Pakistani Senator and Cabinet Minister. She has a BA degree from Saint Joseph's College in Karachi. In 1993, she went to the USA for a two-year filmmaking program at the University of California, Los Angeles. She started as a producer and director for TasVeer productions. The most prominent of her works was Ramchand Pakistani, a feature film released in Pakistan, India, and the UK. It received audience and critical acclaim. Its many notable achievements are: The FIPRESCI AWARD given to her by the International Federation of Film Critics, An Honorable Mention by the 13th Annual Satyajit Ray Awards at the London Film Festival(2008), At the Fribourg International Film Festival she won the audience. Her film Dobara Phir Se was also a huge success after its release in Pakistan, the UK, the USA, and the UAE, in December 2016. She has judged many local and international film festivals.
