The set is much like the real Jail, complete with guards, a jailor, and a watchtower. Here, the celebrities are from various wakes of life: Movie stars, Sports stars, Analysts, comedians, fashion designers, and Social media influencers, among others. These are the carefully selected candidates by the makers who have made headlines due to some controversies. While in Jail, the inmates are deprived of all luxuries and have to fight for their basic needs. As Kangana Ranaut is seen repeating, 'this is not a resort, but a jail, where my rules are followed.' Rightly so, the inmates are dressed-up in Orange and Blue prisoner's uniforms according to their teams' Orange' and 'Blue.' Much like regular reality shows, the participants are expected to perform well in tasks to save themselves from being evicted. Meanwhile, the politics among the inmates get interesting as they plot and plan about whom to 'vote out' and whom to 'save.'

Lock Upp makes for an interesting watch if you prefer reality TV shows. The celebrities are not some 'no-bodies' but real headline-makers who have gripped the imagination of the audience and the public nationwide. Inside the Jail, one gets to take a peek into their personalities and their versions of the story. It is interesting to be able to understand what goes them where they are. Also, budding romances, rivalries, and friendships are sure to grip the attention of the audience. Kangana Ranaut has her own 'Star power' to flex. She brings the much-needed 'first-ever female super start host' vibe into the reality show. Dressed to kill, with a killer attitude to die for, the star has managed to send shivers of fear among the participants and even the general public. Not another reality show, Lock Upp is a must-watch.
