Apara Mehta became a household name for her supporting role in Balaji Telefilms’ iconic show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Born on August 13th, 1960 in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, she started her career at the tender age of 15 with Mumbai Doordarshan. It was as an anchor for a children’s show titled Santakukdi.

Throughout her television career, she has starred in different roles of a shy daughter-in-law, a wife, a mother-in-law, a scheming aunt and a grandmother. She is best known for her roles Paro in Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka, Savita Mansukh Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kukki Kaaki in Saat Phere. She is currently seen in Kya Hua Tera Vaada on Sony TV as Suhasi Alok Singh.

The talented actress also has several films to her credit including Yeh Tera Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Devdas , Just Married and Tees Maar Khan.

She married Darshan Jariwala at the age of 18 and has a daughter with him. Apara Mehta is a trained classical dancer and has also learned classical music from Ghulam Mustafa Khan. She has always been associated with Gujarati Theater and has performed in over 150 plays.
