Epic TV is an informational TV channel that airs shows related to the history of India, shows related to fantasy and folk tales popular in India, and sometimes tv serials inspired by Indian roots. In its attempt to show the history of India related to cooking, the channel started a show named Raja Rasoi Aur Andaaz Anokha. The first season of the show was launched in 2017 and became quite popular. After that, makers bought it for another season, and the second season of the show started on 26 October 2018. The 2nd season had a total of 14 episodes, and it ended on 25 January 2019. The show was aired once a week for 30 minutes. In the show, the host explored various states in India and told stories about its cuisine. In each episode, he had a guest with him to help him tell all the stories.
These guests usually belonged to the state the host was telling the stories. In one of the episodes, he explored the state of Kashmir. He explored different types of food Kashmiris like to eat and then shared stories related to these foods. In another episode, he visited Bengal. In this episode, he was accompanied by Joy, a Bengali chef who knew the history of his state. In the show, he cooked dishes from East Bengal as well as west Bengal. He told the differences between both the places and explored their famous mouth-watering dishes. In another episode, he decided to explore the cuisines of Iran and Persia.
In the episode, he told that Irani migrated to Mumbai in 1800 and after that, Mumbai became their place, and adopted their culture. He told some things related to the Farasi language and other things. He cooked a famous dish, Berry Pulao, and explored Sufism. In this episode, he told them things that inspired Farasi and how Mughal’s are related to it. In another episode, he decided to explore communities from Indian culture, he explored Kayastha communities that are Hindu, but their style of cooking is heavily inspired by Mughals.
He cooked foods that are famous in the Kayastha community and explored their rituals and cultures. In some other episodes, he explored foods cooked by farmers, Dak Bangla, Maratha Influence in cooking in Maharashtra, Tamil cousins, and foods that are very ancient and written in ancient books.
