Global Citizen Festival is a worldwide annual music festival that celebrates artists from all over the world. The festival takes place in major cities all around the world in which artists like popular singers, musicians, bands, etc come and perform for a live audience. Every city has a different lineup of artists that makes the festival more exciting and unique. The festival was founded by Ryan Galls and Hugh Evans. It was launched in the year 2012 and is owned by the Global Poverty Project. In 2016 the festival was announced to be happening in India for the very first time under the name Global Citizen India and many popular faces were roped in to increase the sales of tickets for the festival. Many popular artists from India as well as from around the world performed in this festival. AR Rahman, the great musician and singer from India who is often called the “Mozart of Madras” performed his songs live in the festival alongside Chris Martin.
