Mahabharat is a Bengali-dubbed series that aired on Star Jalsha and is also available on OTT platform Hotstar. It originally premiered on Star Plus in Hindi language. Mahabharat is the greatest epic of Indian mythology. In this serial the epic is told from Lord Krishna’s point of view. It shows the history and family relationships of Pandava and Kaurava clan which were the relative branches of the same family. Their fight for power and a woman’s respect led to the great Kurukshetra war between the two clans. The show starts in Hastinapur ruled by the blind king Dhritarashtra who became the king after Pandu renounced his kingdom reason being his incapability to give heir to the kingdom. The 100 sons of Dhritarashtra grow up to be evil with the oldest brother Duryodhan who was heavily influenced by his evil uncle Shakuni.

Shakuni always supported Duryodhan on his insecurity from the Pandavas. On the other hand the 5 sons of Pandu return to Hastinapur and compete with the Kauravas in a skill based challenge. During the time spent in Hastinapur, Arjuna befriends Lord Krishna the divine avatar of Lord Vishnu. Kauravas and Pandavas rivalry and fight for the Hastinapur’s throne resulted in a large scale merciless war on the Kurukshetra battleground. Lord Krishna with his meticulous strategies intervened in the war from Pandavas side and won the war. This serial is based on one of the greatest histories of India.
