Gouri Daan is a Bengali drama serial that was broadcasted on ETV Bangla and is partially based on the popular Hindi serial ‘Balika Vadhu’. The serial tells the story of a young girl named Gouri, who is born and brought up in a family which believes in equality and teaches the children to stand up for themselves. Gouri has a loving mother who supports her every day and teaches her valuable lessons whenever she could.
However, at the young age of eight, Gouri is married off to a young boy of 13. The whole concept of marriage is new and out of her grasp, which leads her to get into trouble for things she did not mean to do intentionally.
As time passes, she and her young school-going husband grow close to each other and gradually accept each other as husband and wife. They slowly build their relationship and fall in love. With time and immense support from her husband, she wins over the love and support of her in-laws and whenever life throws any obstacle her way, she and her husband face it together.
