Indian Cinema always appreciates the work of Movie Industry, but Malayalam Cinema has its celebration. The Award for the films of Kerala is a well-known award show which cheerfully celebrated in the state on a tremendous scale. This award show of films is the 42nd award show presenting to the Best of Cinema of Malayalam industry released during 2012. There are 32 categories under which awards were given. Best Film award won by ‘
Indian Rupee’, a satirical film written and directed by Ranjit Balakrishnan. A cash prize Rs. 40,000 awarded to the director along with a replica of the certificate. It also received accolades of National Film Award. Dileep, a famous Malayalam star who cast in more than 130 Malayalam films won the Best Actor award for ‘VellaripravinteChangathi’ along with a replica of certificate and prize of one lakh. Best Actress title won by Sweta Menon for ‘Salt ‘N Pepper’ with the certificate and cash prize of one lakh. This face also won the title of Femina Miss India Asia Pacific in 1994 and now is Indian Model, a Television Anchor and also a famous Actress. A Special Jury Award given, won by Director, Biju for ‘AkasathinteNiram.’ Director Biju also awarded with three National Film Award before this.
