Plot
Retired cop Rudhran has been helping the police department in times of need. His son Ajay settled in the US and he married a US girl and this didn’t go well with Rudhran and he stops talking with his son. After three years, Rudhran’s cop friend compels him to go to the US. Rudhran visits his son and compromises with him, yet he couldn’t mingle with his daughter-in-law, even though she voluntarily speaks with him. He makes friends with Bharathidasan, who stays with his daughter Ramya. Ramya and Ajay are colleagues. Meanwhile, Ajay’s neighbor Mona gets kidnapped. After some days a kid is kidnapped. When Rudhran thinks about the cases, a shocking incident happens at his house and makes Rudhran involve in this case personally. What happens next? Watch it in the silver screen!
Star Performance
Vivek had performed excellently well and impressed the audiences. His chemistry with Charle is good and their combination scenes take us back to their old movies. Pooja didn’t have much to perform, yet she used the opportunity well. Dev fits well in his role. Paige had also performed well. The rest of the stars had played their role neatly.
Analysis
Vivek Elangovan had neatly scripted the film. As the film is fully shot in the US, it gives us a Hollywood feel. Except for Vivek, Charle and Pooja, almost all of them are new. However, the film didn’t have an amateurish look. At times, the combination scenes between Vivek and Charle boosts up the film and their atrocities are laudable. The BGM gels well with the script. The director has narrated the script well with a grip and the casting team had done a good job. The editing department didn’t make any mistakes.

Verdict
Although Vellai Pookal is a film with a lot of unknown actors, we like this film for the performances of Vivek and Charle. Vivek had carried the film on his shoulders and favored the makers. Vellai Pookal is a sure winner!
