Plot
The movie revolves around the life of Rudhran, an IT professional in Chennai. He lives a happy life with his parents. Rudhran falls in love with Ananya, marries her, and has a daughter, Anya. Everything seems perfect until Devaraj, Rudhran's father, gets cheated by his friend Bhoomi by borrowing money from a lender. Devarajan passes away soon after this, leading Rudhran to London to settle the debts. One day he learns about his mother Indira’s death and his wife Ananya’s disappearance. He returns to Chennai to seek the truth out. The rest of the movie focuses on Rudhran's attempt to uncover the truth behind his family’s disappearance.
Star Performance
Raghava Lawrence shines as the hero of vengeance. In addition to the action sequences, he handles the emotional scenes well, proving his caliber. Sarathkumar, as Bhoomi, has a solid backstory and does a decent job with it. Priya Bhavani Shanker, as the heroine, supports the hero in all the scenes and produces chemistry in the romantic sequences.
Analysis
For the audience, who are used to seeing the familiar vengeance thriller, this is yet another feather of the same flock. The storyline follows the life of a hero who lost everything and is on the path of justice to redeem the death of his family. Everything portrayed in the movie, right from the intro scene, evokes familiarity in the viewers. The dialogues feel lengthy and over the top. The script does not connect emotionally with the audience. Originality is the last thing expected in the film, except for Bhoomi’s backstory. But even that was not given any importance, ending up being the usual cliche villain. The romantic track worked out pretty well, bringing out the chemistry between the characters. Raghava Lawrence, known for his action roles, proves he is more than just an action hero. The way he handles the emotional scenes makes the audience believe his true potential is yet to showcase. Lengthy and dragged-on action sequences and the jarring background scores test the viewer's patience. Too many subplots squeezed together towards the last confuses the viewers, questioning the importance of those.

Verdict
If you feel like rewatching all the action movies from the past, then this movie will satiate your desire in just two and a half hours. S Kathiresan has done everything correctly, except for just the originality of the script. The movie is a two and half hour long mass masala with every ingredient in the book, be it romance, sentiments, dance, over-the-top dialogues, and action. It is not your cup of tea if novelty is what you are looking for. Also, the length of the film may feel unbearable at times. The romantic track works out okay, but seems squeezed in. Overall the film is a mashup of all the movies the audience is used to.
