Lalgudi Karuppaiah Gandhi alias LKG is a counselor and he dreams to become the CM of the state. LKG is not into politics to serve the people, but for his personal interest. LKG gets help from Sarala to carry his political career forward. With the techniques by Sarala, he turns popular amidst the public and has been in talks of the media people. Soon, he impresses the deputy CM Bojappan. The CM is hospitalized and Bojappan discharges the duty. After the CM dies, Bojappan wants LKG to contest in the late CM’s constituency, but the rest of the party people are against it. What happens next? Watch the film in theaters!
RJ Balaji carries the film on his shoulders and impresses the people. His body language and the dialogue delivering style are fantastic. Priya Anand is not a template heroine and she is given a performance oriented role and she had done it well. The rest of the stars including the Politician Nanjil Sampath and Ramkumar had done what is required in their role.
RJ Balaji has made a bold attempt with a hero role for the first time and he had succeeded it. The political comedy scenes are well designed to impress the audiences. Balaji’s character is very well designed and he is apt too. Unlike a regular spoof movie, LKG has a message in it. It has a father-son relationship, romance along with politics. Although the romance is forcedly added, it didn’t continue and it’s the right decision by the maker. The music, cinematography and the production values are good.
What’s Not There?
LKG is a good political satire film that would not only make the audiences to laugh but to think. With its social message content, LKG is a watchable film. Good effort by KR Prabhu and team!
