Plot
The story revolves around the life of Officer M. Sethunath, who is about to take leave for his wife’s pregnancy. His last task is to track Soloman. Soloman is a convict under parole who has not returned to prison on his specified date. After putting in a lot of effort Sethunath finds Soloman and they spark a conversation. He then realizes how Soloman was wronged in his life, be it from his daughter’s murder to the helpless behavior of the police.
Sethunath then understands Soloman’s need for revenge but still asks him to stop and return to jail. Soloman hesitantly agrees, and Sethunath becomes a father to a baby girl. Still, Sethunath can’t get Soloman out of his mind, and it becomes difficult for him to make rational decisions.
Will Sethunath step in to ensure that Soloman gets justice?

Star Performances
The best performance is of Suraj Venjaramoodu. His character was more complex than it appeared to the eyes and was misunderstood often. Suraj as Soloman justified the role by portraying a troubled but vengeful father accurately. There are very few who can deliver such a role flawlessly, and he is one of them. Indrajith Sukumaran also deserves accolades for his part in the movie.
Analysis
Pathaam Valavu has to be one of the best Malayalam movies released. This movie touches on many issues, such as child abuse, past trauma, and lack of attention by officials. Many films have been made on such subjects, and this one is no exception. The plot is predictable but through its simple narration, the movie is taken positively. A better plot could have been devised, but many merits overshadow this fact.
One of the main reasons this film succeeded at the box office is its engaging storyline and well-written script. Although the plot is the same as many, the way it is executed without any unnecessary twists or turns is appealing to the viewers. In this modern era, such a novice concept is new for viewers. The choice of actors for their roles, be it from Soloman to Sethunath, is accurate. All in all, this movie can be easily categorized as a one-time watch thriller.
